Anglesey Hussars look out to sea for French invaders at the 250th anniversary of Fort Belan
2025 was a particularly special year for our member Fort Belan which celebrated its 250th anniversary in July. The only Wales member to have its own regiment, the Anglesey Hussars, celebrations truly went off with a bang! As co-owner Jean Blundell writes “The fort’s honour was upheld when the marauding French were defeated in exciting skirmishes!” We at Historic Houses Wales wish the Blundell family and the Fort’s friends association every success in their fund-raising efforts to restore this unique place besides the Menai Straits.
