New website for Historic Houses Wales
Historic Houses Wales has acquired a new online identity, championing the cause of independent heritage in the nation.
It is with great pleasure that Historic Houses Wales brings its first bilingual website for Wales that has been developed with the support of the UK Association to communicate with our Wales based audiences, particularly prospective new house members, our visiting public and Wales based politicians. The website will be launched at the Wales members AGM in June 2024.
We know that historic houses in Wales have so much to offer in terms of heritage and culture and that they are adapting to cope with an age that is so different to the time in which they were built. Many historic houses are now vital centres for the rural economy providing opportunities for employment and tourism in particular. They use their fascinating stories to attract visitors which keeps history alive for future generations and can only strengthen the Welsh language and culture. They are environments that benefit our nation’s health and well-being, providing a focus for individuals and communities to get involved and feel proud of.
We have many examples of how imaginative and passionate owners of Historic Houses in Wales are adapting and innovating to meet the challenges of the 21st century and on our new website we will share stories from our custodians of how these special places have been rescued, lovingly restored and are being made sustainable for the future.
